"Different and Better"
I have a Kindle and Kindle 2, so I am committed to the fundamental idea: that reading e-Ink in a slim with a good connection with a variety of books and subscriptions.
I learned to trust my experience Kindle, and is seriously improved my reading.
The Kindle DX Wireless is the ideal upgrade for me, but two things have made me over the edge: the screen bigger, and the native PDF reader. Now I have the Kindle DX Wireless in my hands, and can countries advantages and disadvantages, and neutral report:
A:
- The big screen is an advantage. I can use the largest type on my Kindle 2 (above the eyes) and the font size I have a lot more text per page in Kindle DX Wireless. This makes the experience more like reading a whole book (and should be a blessing for people to buy books in large print.)
- The screen is also clear that my Kindle 2 in comparison side by side, the book is darker and the contrast is much better, which means better visibility in general.
- On a side note, the larger screen also allows the reading of poetry in Kindle, even in large print formats. Stimulates early, cutting lines smaller screen, you lose the meaning and purpose, when the poet of the line. In Kindle DX Wireless, you can see the whole line exactly as the poet mean by the court to the right place at the hearing.
- The PDF reader works as advertised and is very comfortable. PDF documents are displayed in the Kindle DX Wireless as it happens on a computer screen. You can also drag and drop files directly to your device via USB cable (or use e-tax if necessary.) The only drawback, at least for documents that I spent "Well, I can not size, as I can manage Kindle native document.
Screen rotation works - also known as advertising: Acts as a lightweight in both graphics and text, and serious drawbacks of compensation can PDFs font size adjust the zoom. A nice touch of design introduced the four streams are blocked on Kindle second rotation sensitive, and moves by the rotation of the screen as expected.
- Have fallen more space devoted to full-screen device, while the white plastic frame on the screen, both in general and in relation to the plastic screen on the Kindle seconds like this (but see below in the keyboard).
- Storage: I like the increase in storage capacity, and the lack of an external memory card. I see that some people have problems with this, but only those people who either a) must be constant through PDF documents, for a total of over 3.5 GB of disk space or b) almost 3,500 books on a regular basis after their finger. I fit into any category.
CONS:
- Price: It 's expensive, as you can tell fairly quickly. If the value of larger size and native PDF reader, such as duties, the premium of approximately 30%, you pay for the Kindle 2 DX justified. In fact, the cost that DX is the Kindle 2, and a premium of 30% is not unreasonable. But for my money, the price should Amazon Kindle for $ 200-300 or shorter, and a fee of $ 400 or less for the Kindle DX Wireless. But I bought it, and leads to that.
- Navigation keys face: all the buttons on the right and no one left. I reason that I should not complain, but I found both sides of the second Kindle lefties right to complain, I think.
- The manipulation of one hand: I often read while I walk with my Kindle DX Wireless in hand, and something more in my other. Because of the layout of keys that will be more difficult in the DX.
Metal stand - I miss the sticky rubber on my first Kindle If I put my Kindle on an inclined surface, remained in force. Not so two of my DX and now my Kindle. This is not a specific complaint with the DX, but still there.
namely, neutral (to see things):
- Weight: Kindle DX Wireless is heavier, then it is clear. It 's just a matter of if, like me, you regularly use Kindle with one hand. . . However, it is still feasible.
- Keyboard: The keyboard has four lines and not five: the first row of numbers 1 and 2 of the Kindle has merged the top row QWERTY, while the numbers are only accessible with Alt key is vertically thin, so all the keyboard is only an inch (compared with over 1.5 "in Kindle 2). At the same time, the keys are easier to push a bit 'more the Kindle 2. For someone with large fingers (like me) using a keyboard a bit 'difficult, but only slightly.
This is all I can see. Overall, the positives outweigh the disadvantages for me, and I'm satisfied with my purchase. Now I think with my Kindle DX Wireless to working papers on a regular basis, because the PDF reader. The screen size and screen rotation throughout the reading experience more immersive.
In general, the text feels more like DX and less like the device and is close to the stated objectives of the Kindle: for the device to disappear, leaving just the pleasure of reading.
