Augen 7-Inch E-Reader (EBA701)
Augen 7-Inch E-Reader (EBA701) Reviews
(excuse if my english is not good)

    I bought Augen 7-Inch E-Reader (EBA701) the past Desember from amazon.com , I'm think I love with it.

No problem at all with any of the features when I use it. I don't understand why the Augen 7-Inch E-Reader (EBA701) has many bad reviews.

Honestly, If you know what are you buying, you wont get disappointed.

Many of ebook readers don't have wifi, card slot, color display or are capable of reading so many formats of text files, images, sound and video, and to get all of that for less than 120$ is actually awesome.

(I bought Augen 7-Inch E-Reader (EBA701) when it was only 107$ actually lol ^_^ )

pros:

#Doesn't look cheap at all

#very good packaging - beautiful box and very neat , very neat. Augen 7-Inch E-Reader (EBA701) comes with all what's nesesary, including a CD with Calibre, an user guide, usb, & charger

#Augen 7-Inch E-Reader (EBA701) comes with a gorgeous magnetic leather case, that be similar to a personal agenda/diary, and has Augen The Book engraved on the front - is very stylish and professional lookin.

#the inside of the leather case, the Augen 7-Inch E-Reader (EBA701) gets hold on place by these little "hooks", so it is very safe (you can hold it all angles and it wont move or fall) , handy and comfortable to read just like that holding it with the leather case, just like you would read from your agenda, or to slide it to the right so it releases from the hooks and you can hold the Augen 7-Inch E-Reader (EBA701) in your hands without any case, like you would with the kindle.

#You can use the Augen 7-Inch E-Reader (EBA701) while its charging too ^_^ as I plug it near a sofa sometimes or near my bed, its very comfortable.

#I love that it comes on several languages.

#the display is Very surprising and the resolution is great, crisp clear (also the brightness comes in several levels perfectly adjustable, as well as the font and the text size)

#reads perfectly on dark rooms with no lights (I use my Augen 7-Inch E-Reader (EBA701) at nights while in bed already - I love it)

#the vertical/horizontal sensor is awesome - Augen E-Reader detects automatically whenever you tilt to the sides - very fast, very nice.

#icons and format of the menu and library are nice too, and browsing through them with the little joystick button on the corner is incredibly fast too - i was so afraid it would come out to be slow like the sony reader but WOW. this one has absolutely NO LAG while browsing through the menu and folders, this is a BIG plus for me because i hate laggy devises.

#The battery life is actually good. I don't have many free time, so its mostly only at nights that I use it, and even then, I can't spend more than 2 or 3 hours reading, so it seems to last 6 or 7 days for me, just using it a bit each day, I press the power button whenever i wanna pause reading , and just turn it on again whenever I want to continue, and its not like it restarts the device, but it actually is as if you had left it on sleep mode or something - it goes back to the book text instantly as soon as you turned it on again - really handy and saves you the pain of having to browse through folders and menues again.

#I think I have noticed that If it's on but not in use, as in, left on a page for quite a while with out page turns or any movement, it turns off alone too, for saving batteries - (lol this is good for the buddies who fall asleep while reading sometimes)

#when connecting it to the pc ,it recognices the device instantly.

#you also have the options of doing the transferences of your books and files thought calibre (love the app by the way), or just by directly opening the folders as you would on any normal USB storage disk device - you can create folders inside folders and name them and organize your files as you want (i havent tried this yet with the music, but with the rest of files, books, images, it works perfectly fine)

# most of my books are on Epub format, but i saw calibre has a nice converter too, though i havent tried it yet with .doc documents, i'd say you can pretty much read everything.

#PDF works perfectly on me

#i like very much that the selection button is the joystick as well as you can also use the "enter" button of the keyboard for it , and also, i love that it has the "next page" on BOTH sides of the device, so its very comfortable for reading one handed too - its comfortable no matter how you hold it and well, you can use the joystick for changing pages too - next page/prev page - the buttons or the joystick, whichever suits your reading position best. it works perfectly on any way

Cons:

#the internet browser is actually basic and complicated to browse to the sides when on noncentric sites - but that is all you need for browsing more ebooks or whatever simple task (hey , use your pc or notebook if you want anything fancier - remember this is just an ebook reader! you READ BOOKS on it - go to for an ipad if you want big flash websites and such)

#requires around 2+ or 3, sometimes 4 hours of charge so the batery icon displays fully charged - so i have to remember that whenever im planning on going out with it - i try to always leave it charging the night before - you really dont feel the time as much because, yeah, this is not you dont go around using the ereader 24/7 so i think the batery life is actually fine.

#the wifi sometimes wont connect to certain wireless spots - for example it conects just fine on my BF's house and on some relatives houses, but sometimes it wont conect in mine - i dont know why though but maybe is because of the wireless thing of my house and not the actual device

#you dont really get to use the keyboard much, aside of when you're using the wifi, configurating something or if you want to take notes, but that is about it - although is really nice, responds nicely and also with no lags, but yeah, as the keyboard doesnt get really much use i'd say it would be a great step to just make this device touch screen - less buttons, more screen features

#there is really not a lot of info about this on the official site - i wish there were more more forums or user guide content online - or more updates or just whatever - it is really hard to find content about this one online

#I'd love the device's menu to be more customizable - smaller icons, diferent arrangements - i wish it would also show little image previews of the books as well, and not just the tittles, but yeah, its just a small detail

I cant think of more things to say - I am fully convinced it has much more pros at its favour

its fantastic and fully filled my expectations

over all i LOVE my augen, its exactly what i wanted.

i really thought over getting a sony pocket reader, a kindle or this one
it was very little the diference, but yeah i am certain i made the right choice with this baby

you guys can check out youtube, there are plenty of reviews of this one and some are very helpful for making your decision

Dont guide your selves only on the bad reviews displayed here - you might be missing out on this great product. i think certain people just dont have patience or have too high expectations on a device that wasnt maid for the stuff they were looking for. period.

as i said, if you have browsed through other ereader reviews and features for quite a while, and done your own comparison both features and price, then you know what are you buying, and you wont be disapointed. it works perfectly. and imo, it IS worth it.
