About Graco
In 1942, Russell Gray and Robert Cone formed Graco Metal Products, in Philadelphia, PA. For 11 years, the firm fabricated machine and car parts for local manufacturers. In 1953, Gray left the firm, leaving Cone as sole owner. Cone decided to manufacture his own line of products, but had trouble coming up with ideas. Enter David Saint, an engineer, tinkerer, and stained glass artisan who worked for Graco. Saint, himself a father of nine, was intrigued when an associate told him how his wife would soothe their tired and cranky baby while swinging in a backyard glider swing. Acting on this inspiration, he went to the drawing board and 18 months of hard work later, the world's first wind-up infant swing, the Graco Swyngomatic, was born. Graco sold millions of Swyngomatics in the coming years, becoming one of the world's leading manufacturers of juvenile products in the process. Today, Graco is a Newell Rubbermaid company, with 1500 associates worldwide. While a half-century has brought many changes to Graco, their dedication and commitment to designing and manufacturing top-quality products remains, and continues on.

Best car seat I've seen! My son looks so comfortable in this, and has plenty of room to grow. I would definately recommend this to other parents!

"Graco Nautilus is worth the price!!!" 2010-11-05

I bought my first Graco Nautilus 2008 when my son was in transition from baby car seat to a 5 point Harness seat. I did a ton of research and decided $250+ was out of my budget for a Car seat. But wanted good Quality with Safety of my son in mind. ON top of that I wanted a car seat that would transition with my son as he grew older.

Not only does Graco Nautilus have all this but their 5 point Harness is good for 65lbs. Now my only complaint like others is the strap that is between the legs of my child is short and to far back for his Height. But at age 4 he can manage. And I think Graco design is meant for Safety of the child. So if the strap has to be short to keep my Son safe then so be it.

My Son and I, where in a Car Accident a few weeks back. It caused a good amount of damage to my car and the other. But my son walked away with no pain and not a scratch on him. I decided that day I was buying another Grao Nautilus. The safety of my son is My responsibility and for that reason I'm writing this review. Why spend more then you have to? Name brand wont save your child, and so I feel very thankful to Graco for making a Car seat that I know first hand now that will save my child in case of another Accident. May it never happen though.

Thank you to Amazon for fast and free shipping as well.

I just purchased 2nd one of this seat. first one was for my 2 years, whose now 3 and still using it. Great thing about this seat is so comfortable and kids follow asleep very fast. Down side is this Seat doesn't tilt back very much, because of that kids head sometime hang over while they are sleeping.Looks very uncomfortable other than that items this seat is great.

I have owned this product for over a year. I originally bought 2-one for each set of granparents who frequently watch our daughter. We are using Britax Marathons in our vehicles. Over the summer, we changed car seats with my parents, as they had a difficult time buckling and unbuckling the Graco. Since using the product regularly, I've notice a few issues. First, it's much more difficult for my 3-year old to climb in and out of on her own than the Britax. Second, the straps seem short, ecspecially when adjusting for a winter coat. It makes me wonder how long she'll actucally be able to use this seat because it seems like she is running out of strap already. Third, while my daughter sleeps comfortably in her Britax, she has no real head support in the Graco if she falls asleep. She ends up slouched over with her head bobbing up and down. I've had to sit in the back of the car with her to hold her head because it looks so painful.

Overall, this is a good seat for occasional use, quick trips, babysitters, or grandparents. I would not purchase it was my primary car seat.
