this is a perfect kit for a DIY homeowner. size / power, gets into small spaces and gets the job done. i keep the small drill in the house so i dont have to chase my big drill when i need it. impact drivers, even small ones, have amazing ability to deliver torque.

These things are fantastic. They will handle 95% of a normal person's drilling/driving needs. They have a great LED light that stays lit for a few seconds after using the trigger. They are so small and light you can use them for just about anything! Fit well in your hand and are well-balanced. Makita products are top-notch. Only flaw is you are limited to 1/4" bits (although if you need a bigger bit, then you probably need a bigger drill!). I got them as Deal of the Day for like $75 dollars!!!! Unbelievable!!!!

I have several other less expensive battery drivers and several DeWalt 14.4v drills. These are now my favorites for general usage. They are light enough to work with in awkward situations, the built in lights are great - they stay on for a few seconds after the trigger is released. This allows you to tap the trigger then use the light to mate the bit to the screw and then proceed with plenty of light. The batteries charge rapidly and seem to last quite a long time. The impact driver is very handy to have in this size tool also. I would recommend them to anyone.

I got these when we started renovating our 60 y/o house, as I didn't want to have to use the heavier, more powerful ones for all the little "things" involved. It didn't take long to realize that these two could & indeed have both removed & inserted 1000's of screws from 1/2" to 3 1/2" screws of all types. The batteries recharge overnight & then we are off & running again for the next days battle. I would happily recommend this set for anyone to use in nearly any application. I had my first Makita driver in 1980 & have watched other brands steadily surpass them, until now... I am happy to say Makita has once again risen to the top of this tool system...
