If I had to do it all over again I would probably spring for the RF feature. This remote works fine as long as the units pick up the signal. It can be combersome when a component misses the command. Set up and programming were easy and quick.

I purchased the Harmony One from Amazon in November of 2009. While I would not dissuade anyone from purchasing it, you should do so with your expectations kept at a reasonable level.
First, the unit is surprisingly unsophisticated. You program your devices, and order of operation, on line. This is a fairly simple task, especially if you use remotes all the time. However, this is where the "technology" ends. The Harmony One blindly follows your commands, regardless of their rationality. Assuming you are both sober and correct in your inputs, the device is ready to perform.
Second, it is nothing more than a universal remote. When viewed in that capacity, it operates satisfactorily. However, if you are looking for HAL (yes, I am over 50) or the mesmerizing qualities of an ipod touch, get ready for disappointment.
Third; the "Help" feature is there for one good reason: you will need it. However, it is also extremely basic as regards functionality. If, for example, the TV does not go on and your amplifier does (assuming it is connected to your sound/home theater system), the unit will ask a number of questions: "is the amplifier on?"; "is the DVD on?"; "did you floss"? (that, was a feeble attempt at humor). Finally, you will be queried on the awaited topic: "is the TV on"? You will, when you have ceased gnashing your teeth, answer "yes". The TV will then turn on. "Did that fix the problem?", Harmony will ask. "*@!!#*!" you will respond. It think you get the picture (pun intended).
Yes, I have updated the device and reloaded software. This is how it functions, "normally". To be sure, this does not occur all the time; once or twice a week is typical.
My wife, who initially thought the Harmony One was the answer to her prayers, now feels snake bitten. Its obvious intent is to reduce TV viewing, if only by leaving the uninitiated with sound, but a darkened screen.
It may not be worth the $160.00+; however, what is a fair price for frustration these days?

This remote is a replacement for an 880 that developed contact problems under the buttons. The setup was very easy. It copied my old device info onto the new remote. I recommend this remote it is easier to use than the 880.

After reading many reviews on several remotes, I decided on the Harmony one. To my surprise it performs better than I had hoped. The programming was a snap! The hardest part was waiting for my antique computer to do it's part. I'm a 59 year old male who is not exactly electronics savey, but found this not only a breeze to set up and use, but a fabulous space saver as well. Less remotes means more room for snacks on my side table.
