If you are one of those people who needs to fall asleep with some sort of white noise in the background then this product is for you. Normally I just leave a fan on all night purely for the sound, but in the winter that gets to be a little difficult so I turn to this little guy. It's rather heavy when you first hold it, but once you plug it in you can immediately tell that it produces the perfect white noise sounds that almost mimics a fan. There are some parts of it that turn/slide so you can make the noise loud/soft, but I tend to leave it on the softest level. The unit despite being heavy is small enough that you could easily throw it in an overnight bag if you're going to sleep over with the in-laws who snore or with the friends with noisy kids.

Turned it on the first night and thought, "I paid for that?" But not now that I sleep with fewer "wake ups," and if I do wake up I fall back to sleep almost immediately. So I'm sold on it. Nice too that my wife and I can't hear each other snoring.

Though the sleepmate still isn't loud enough to drown out my husband's snoring; it is quite loud and does the job i bought it for.
