After saving Olympus from the evil Titan lord, Kronos, Percy and friends have rebuilt their beloved Camp Half-Blood, where the next generation of demigods must now prepare for a chilling prophecy of their own:
Seven half-bloods shall answer the call,
To storm or fire the world must fall.
An oath to keep with a final breath,
And foes bear arms to the Doors of Death.
Now, in a brand-new series from blockbuster best-selling author Rick Riordan, fans return to the world of Camp Half-Blood. Here, a new group of heroes will inherit a quest. But to survive the journey, they’ll need the help of some familiar demigods.

God god this book is amazing. I read through half of my college classes and finished it in one day. AMAZING. i think i mentioned that already, but still, it is.
Just as good as the percy books, if not kinda better. I LOVED it.
Would HIGLY recommend it to anyone that liked the percy jackson series. I am already counting down til next fall when the new one comes out.

Blood and Sunlight: A Maryland Vampire Story
My son loved the movie so I picked up the book for him. Only thing is I never gave it to him- I was too busy reading it myself. The momentum is unbelievable and can't wait until they bring this one to film. If you found the Harry Potter books a bit slow, then you will love this.

What I loved about the Percy Jackson series was how easy it was to read and understand. This new series, The Heroes of Olympus, was similar that way. Reading books for me is like going to another world, and this was one world that I didn't want to come out of.
It was difficult for me to get used to the constant switching of point of views between the three main characters. I always got frustrated when I wanted to read more in the point of view of a particular character. However, I read it very quickly and it didn't seem long before that character came back. None of the characters were the same and were all equally lovable. The book was very good, impossible to put it down, and the plot was satisfyingly twisted and creative. The next book doesn't come out until next fall. I wish I had savored it a little longer!

I was not disappointed with this book - in fact I love it. Roman demigods meet Greek demigods with Hera trying to bring the family together. Old characters from the Percy Jackson's books and now a new character named Jason. I feel for Jason - no memory, no family and this life as the son of Zeus slowly comes back. Do we trust Hera? Once again, Olympus is in danger and not the one in New York. The original one in Greece. I am just unhappy that I have to wait untill Spring, 2011 for the second book.

Continues the premise of demi gods and brings in a Roman touch. Liked the new characters and want to read more.
