Amazon.com Review
When a visitor--wanted or unwanted--approaches a house on foot or in a vehicle the motion-detecting sensor unit of this warning device sends a signal to the receiver indoors, which chimes an alert. The device is wireless and has a 400-foot range. It requires three C-cell batteries for the receiver and one 9-volt battery for the transmitting sensor. (Batteries are not included.) The sensor is housed in weather-resistant plastic, installs with a screw on any surface, such as a mailbox post, garage, or door, and measures 4-1/4 inches high, 2-5/8 inches wide, and 2-1/4 inches deep. The portable receiver has an identical housing, can be set to chime high or low (or turned off), and measures 5 inches high, 3-5/8 inches wide, and 1-1/2 inches deep. --Fred Brack

Installed on the side of parents' carport to cover their back door. With a little duct tape on the sensor I blocked out pet traffic zones and side to side motion areas. It works pretty well except for a real problem with sun/shade changes. Aimed at a brick wall it kept triggering until I figured out the change in heat on the wall from cloud movement was the problem. Had to place it so the sensor viewing area was in constant shade.

I hid the motion sensor under a copy of the newspaper on my driveway & when the thief picked up the paper the alarm sounded in my house & I flew out the door & busted her. Felt great!

This alarm works well within the parameters of the manufacturer except the distance of transmission between the sensor and receiver. Placed within 30ft of one another they work just fine.

Ok, only if you have two of them. Meaning that if you have a two car gargage lets say. The best way to place them is out of reach at each end facing a 45 degree angle or pointing dirctly to the center of your drive way so that it forms sorta like a X. Whats good or great about this is that you get a double alarm. Meaning that if you hear it go off once (beep x4) its probly your cat, if it goes off twice (beep x8) be syspecious, and look if your not doing anything by if you hear it go off 3 times (beep x12) its some one and get your bat because its really happing.
