I have issue 4.2 from Comcast, and while the anti-virus features and other stuff seem to work just fine, the backup module is AWFUL. It is the slowest thing I have ever experienced, requires that every file onthe backup floppy or drive be replaced every time, and just plain takes forever. There is no way anybody will backup regularly with this dinosaur.

I really love this product. I read reviews that people had not liked the previous versions; however I activated the trial version that came w/my laptop and I really liked it. When it expired I bought the 360 through Amazon super cheap (like $35) vs the special offer $60 norton was offering me.
Anyways, it does NOT slow down my computer...AT ALL. I previously had pcdoctor and it was horrible, even when not running scans(it would freeze my entire comp constantly). NOT this one, it's really great. I'm on the internet, its running a full scan and I don't even notice. One small thing that I love, that I dont know if other products provide, is that I pick the start up programs. I love the cards and logins feature. I have had a really good experience with this product.
I had no problems unstalling the trial version and reinstalling the cd. I'm not computer savvy so I wasn't sure if they would communicate, rather than testing it, I avoided if and any problems with that and just uninstalled the trial then installed the cd. On my laptop I was able to retrieve all my cards and logins. That is the only thing I have not figured out; if I am able to transfer those with different accounts/computers. So far I have not been able to, but that is not a big deal to me.

Great product. Easy to install and use. I've tried other products that were cheaper and they were NOT so user friendly. I'll only use Norton on my computers.

I have used Norton for several years and trust the product and have never encountered a proplem with installation. This year, however, when I tried to install (windows vista) it never asked for the product key no and therefore was not accepting the installation. I eventually had to call tech support and was enouraged to buy the remote service for $39.99. As my subscription was running out and I was told I had an internal problem and that this was the best and quickest way to get help, I agreed. When I was connected with the remote tech support I learned that all I had to have done was go into my account and type in the product key number. Of course, by this time the $39.99 had already been charged to my credit card. The remote technician did agree to extend my subscription for an additional 60 days in an effort to make up for some of the additional cost. To say the least I was not a happy camper as I spent quite a bit of time on the phone in addition to the extra expense. As for the product itself - I have no problems. By the way, when I tried to install the product on a 2nd computer, I had the same problem, but by then knew what to do.
