I bought a bottle for my daughter who is a college freshman. At a party, one of her friends picked it up thinking it was a bottle of perfume and proceeded to spray himself in the chest and neck. My daughter reported that her friend was out of commission for about 15 minutes, so I think it would be effective against an attacker, especially if they were sprayed directly in the face.

Initially I ordered two of these for myself: one to carry in my purse and one to keep in my home. I love this product so much, I am ordering 10 more to give as gifts. I like the fact that you can move the trigger from locked to operating position by sliding it with one finger; that means you can do it quickly and without having to look (e.g., if you're in a dark parking lot). I like the fact that it's pink, so I can find it quickly in my purse. And I like the fact that each purchase makes a donation to fight breast cancer. So, it's a win-win-win!

I have bought one for both my girlfriend and my mother. It is nice to be able to not have to worry so much when they are alone. The price and look of the product are good too :)
