The text-to-speech feature of the n?vi 260W means that device automatically calls out street names (saying "turn right on Main Street" instead of "turn right in 200 feet."). This feature lets drivers keep their eyes on the road while navigating through busy traffic and tricky roadways.

The 4.3-inch backlit widescreen touchscreen on the n?vi 260W gives you 70% more actual screen area than a 3.5-inch screen. Primarily this translates into a better view of the area through which you are driving. Also, the device itself is larger, meaning controls on the screen are more widely spaced and somewhat easier to push.

I bought the Garmin nuvi 260W to replace the Garmin c340. The battery died on Garmin c340. I am using it mainly for my wedding photography business. So far, it has proven to be indispensable. I never have to worry about getting lost to the church or being late to the reception.
The console is very easy to navigate.

This Garmin Nuvi is excellent, my wife and I are retired and travel a lot; it will definitely get you where you are going. The trick to this model is to go to Garmin's website and get the latest download and the newest maps, it is free the first time, either order the usb plug or as in our case the plug to our mp3 worked perfect, it took about 3 hours to uninstall and re-install and we have a pretty fast dsl conection. I buy a lot of products from Amazon and rate Amazon as an EXCELLENT company to deal with. From order to delivery is very short time.

I have purchased several of thease over the last two years for my self and for family members and I use mine all the time. I am realy impressed with it, It don't have all the bells and wistles that some of the new ones have but for the average person like my self thay are very user frendly.I wont leave home with out it!

I have owned five Garmin Nuvi's over the years. I don't buy the current models, as price is important to me. I find that current models offer more than I need or will use in features, and previous models have even more in features than I will utilize at a far lower cost. This is an excellent product! I use it to check the speed of my boats and navigate with it on waterways as well as in my automobiles. It instantly shows my speed within one tenth of a mph, and can show my maximum speed over an period of time. Upgrading maps costs almost as much as a the purchase of a newer Garmin, so I do not elect to upgrade maps, just buy a new Garmin. I highly recommend this product as a "best buy".
