Unless you're the kind of person who HAS to have sleek & trim phone, or if your phone is periodically in a position to get bumped or tossed around, the Otterbox case is the way to go. (And Amazon is the place to buy it!)
The bulkiness of the case in the belt holster takes some getting used to, but the "kickstand" functionality of the clip on the holster has come in handy on a regular basis.
SHOULD this case ever fail, given what it's already been through, I'd gladly buy another one.

This case fits the new iPhone perfectly and I have tremendous confidence in it's design. I found it a minor challenge to open up the case to insert the iPhone, but I know the case will never pop open on it's own! Well worth the financial investment.

If you want maximum protection for your iPhone 4 then this is your case. It adds a bit of bulk but well worth it.

This is my second Otter Box purchase. My first otter box was ran over by several cars. I left my iPhone on the tail gate, drove away and realized it 10 minutes later. When I went back to get it I watched cars run over it, went to get it out of traffic expecting my brand new $400 phone to be ruined and...NOT A SCRATCH ON IT! Otter box SAVED MY PHONE! OH HAPPY DAY!!! Needless to say, I will ONLY have an Otter box!

The case itself seems to be a good product and would have gotten a 5 star review, except for a problem I ran a week after I started using it.
The belt holster that comes with this case is made of a rigid plastic, the case snaps into it and is held by a plastic latch. Unfortunately this latch is prone to snapping -- and mine snapped while I was holstering it. The plastic is apparently not tough enough to survive normal usage. I spotted a few complaints about this while I was researching the purchase -- but assumed it was a rare occurrence. I have not yet tried to get warrantee service on the holster, will update this review when I'm done.
UPDATE (same day):
I called Otterbox's support number, left a voicemail callback number (the auto callback number option doesn't work: I received a callback from support within 20 minutes. I described the problem and they immediately offered to ship a replacement - no muss, no fuss. The holster has not been redesigned, so until that happens, I would consider this an open issue.
