Taylor Swift's latest album is her best work, yet. Her melodic voice is comforting and the accompanying instruments are more intricate and shows her progressive maturation as a Pop and Country Icon. Her latest songs indicate attracting a wider and more mature audience from the younger crowd who adopted her as a role model. The blend of songs on this CD combine her talents in Pop, Country, Rock and her soft style in ballads.
Sparks Fly,The Story of Us: Upbeat melodic love songs that we all know and love Taylor Swift for.
Innocent, Back to December, Dear John: Great ballads that showcases her vocal range.
Last Kiss: Beautiful country-style ballad.
Enchanted: Nice blend of an upbeat love song and ballad.
Long Live, Speak Now, Haunted: Taylor's Pop style.
Better Than Revenge: Taylor's hand at Teen Rock.
Taylor Swift is truly here to stay and these songs will solidify her influence on a greater spectrum of fans.
Truly, a brilliant artist and performer.
Highly recommend this latest album.

I don't care who you are you HAVE to be impressed with this gal! 20 years old. The only female ever in country music history to write every song on her album and sell over 1 million copies. This is fun to listen to.

I can understand the impulse buy that "The most helpful critical review" said that he bought the three albums, I count Fearless Platinum as its own album, and how you do it because you have a twenty burning a hole in your pocket so why not?
I think on some of her earlier songs were a bit over hyped just like the guy who wrote the The most helpful critical review... Perhaps if I was a fifteen year old girl I would like Fifteen, no offense to the song or the people who like it, more but I am not so I thought it was a bit over hyped being played almost all the time on the radio...
Speak Now however has a much more... Pop edge to it that Taylor Swift has always had to my ears where she is not country but not pop either, perhaps that is why I didn't find the other albums so good is they were always somewhere in between and not in a good way...
This album I feel found that perfect balance.
Only small things I have is that the album cover is a bit blurry... I like how its not the averge headshot that a bunch of... single artist (not counting the band) use. How it changes the pace and gives you that little bit more.
The only other thing is the track listing... Not the songs just the track listing, how it kind of goes up up down up down down up (if that made sense...) and so forth I think it could have been better listed, perhaps that is just the one person saying it.
All in all I love this album, which is somthing from some one who didn't like the first of her albums.

Ok, I kind of want to say right here and now that I LOVE nearly everything about Taylor Swift. Her previous album, `Fearless', is one of my favorite records of the past decade. Nearly every song is flawless and the album only grows stronger and stronger the more I listen to it. The same things could `almost' be said about `Speak Now', and honestly I would be saying them all about this album had she never released `Fearless'. Here's my one issue with Swift; she is so good at what she does that she doesn't do enough `other' things to differentiate her albums.
`Speak Now' is basically `Fearless' with lyrics in a different order.
I know that sounds like a grand slam complaint, but it really isn't. Regardless of the obvious similarities, I've been listening to this album for over a week straight and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon.
It's that good.
When Swift channels other influences the album pops for me. When I hear her mourn the loss of love on `Last Kiss' I am reminded of the intimacy of Damien Rice, and that more than fills me with admiration. When I hear her spunky beckoning of revenge served cold on `Better Than Revenge' I can see Paramore rubbing their newfound fame all over Swift. Her rooted sound on `Mean' gives me a good old country chill (throw the pop aside, this is pure country fun).
And then she goes and sings so convincingly about the loss of innocence on `Never Grow Up' and reduces this grown man to a lapful of tears (seriously, best song on the album for many reasons).
Like I said, there really isn't anything to dislike here (except for that closing track, `Long Live', which sounds like a watered down version of `Change'). `Mine' is fun and totally pop-country-princess worthy. When it comes on the radio, I don't turn it off. `Sparks Fly' is sweet and enchanting like only Swift can do it. `Enchanted' has a beautifully catchy chorus (and her vocals are stunning, especially the way it cracks when she says "meet you").
Sure, `Speak Now' and `The Story of Us' are fun and reminiscent of the breed of pop-country that made Swift so popular, but they do sound like the filler on the album.
Swift really ups her game when she shows vulnerability. `Innocent' is beautifully touching (even if her age makes it a tad strange to take seriously) and `Dear John' shows the devastating effects of manipulation on a young girl's heart (you're a real charmer Mr. Mayer). `Back to December' is really effective in that it shows Swift accepting blame for the demise of a relationship she regrets destroying. It shows accountability that isn't seen a lot in the whole `pop-princess' genre.
And then there is `Haunted', which is like AMAZING!!! Why didn't she close this album with this song? Sure, it has elements that recall `Change', but it certainly stands on its own.
Like I said, I love Swift and this album is no exception. If she had never released `Fearless' then this album would be a certified A+ for me. In fact, I think overall I may like this album a tad more than I like `Fearless', but the fact that it sounds so similar is not something I can overlook in this review.
BUY IT, LISTEN TO IT, LOVE IT...but you'll understand what I'm saying when you do.
